...Msgr. Aniagwu Warns Parishioners
The Parish priest of St. Leo's Catholic Church, Ikeja Lagos, Nigeria, Monsignor
John K. A Aniagwu, has issued a disclaimer, warning his parishioners against
possible infiltration and patronization of a certain "dissident" priest and his
"ministry."
In a statement issued on Monday, October 19, the parish priest said,
"My attention has been drawn to a monthly publication by one Canaanland
Adoration Ministries Worldwide, aka "E-dey Work", being promoted by a certain
Rev. Fr. Magnus Ebere, SDV. The said publication was distributed in St. Leo's
church yesterday, Sunday, 18th October 2020. Parishioners should please take
note that the so-called "ministry" has been
proscribed
by the Bishop of the home diocese of the promoter, Bishop Lucius Ugorji,
Apostolic Administrator of Ahiara Diocese. Consequently, the promoter himself is
a dissident priest. The publication gives the name of Cardinal John Onaiyekan as
"Spiritual Adviser". I have spoken with the Cardinal, and he denied having
anything to do with the "ministry" or its publication. Parishioners are hereby
advised to distance yourselves from the promoter, his "ministry" and its
publication. Anyone distributing the publication here in St. Leo's parish should
be promptly reported to any of the priests for appropriate action." Msgr. John
