“Lent is a season of intense prayer, fasting, and concern for those in need. It offers all Christians an opportunity to prepare for Easter by serious discernment about their lives, with particular attention to the word of God which enlightens the daily journey of all who believe.” - St. John Paul II
MEDITATIONS
DAY EIGHT WITH
Beloved in Christ,
Today we are invited to reflect on the Gospel according Matthew (7:7-12).
Many a times as Christian we find ourselves making different kinds of request before the Lord, but we often forget to add that “may your will be done” which is the most important thing. Many of Christians in our contemporary time want “microwave responses” from God each time they make a request from Him.
Today’s Gospel says to us that if parents as wicked as they are, know how to give good things to their children, how much more will our heavenly Father do to those that ask from Him genuinely. We are encouraged as Christian to approach the altar of God and make genuine request especially that and His will be done in our lives.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to always seek your will above everything else. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
